Hello, my name is Jeremy Wandasiewicz and I am the owner of Tidewater Tech Computer Services in Panama City, FL. I got my start in the computer world back in 2005 with a company named DominionTech Computer Services in Burlington, Vermont. Brian Curtis, the owner, was a good friend of mine and just starting this MSP. I was at a turning point in my life and had an offer for a job at FedEx. The day before I started, Brian asked me if I would come work with him. As I knew the other job would be secure and give me room to grow, I knew this opportunity to get into computers and learn from Brian was the right thing to do.
He took me under his wing, and I started at the ground level and worked my way up. Customers would drop off their computers for repair and I would diagnose hardware and software issues, learned to take desktops and laptops apart and successfully put them back together again, and eventually got certified to work on Lenovo and Apple computers for warranty repairs. I also got my COMPTIA A+ certification during this time.
From there I moved up to help desk support and would handle remote issues over the phone and scheduling service calls from residential and business clients as we moved into that realm. As things grew, I became the help desk manager and was responsible for a team of other techs handling the help desk.
As the business side of things began to grow, I moved over into the network administrator role and would travel to businesses daily to proactively assist them in their company goals. In this new role, I would keep their organization’s servers/desktops at 100% uptime; monitor and make changes to firewalls as needed; handle reactive tickets of desktop/server support, on either Mac’s or PC’s; on a proactive level by run through monthly tasks on servers, go through event logs, ensuring all systems are optimized, and backups are running as desired onsite and off; create disaster recovery and network security plans; and to build lasting relationships.
After almost 12 years at DominionTech, I got the offer to be Systems Manager at U.S. Probation for the District of Vermont. This was a great opportunity and enabled me to learn the judiciary side of the government, stay at one location, and learn a lot of other skills. One of those skills was a request to be trained in digital forensics to assist with their clients searches and seizures. At the time it was taking agencies 9 months to get these devices looked at which enabled these clients to be on the streets during those months. As a father of 2, I took this challenge on with no question whatsoever. After much studying, traveling, and classes, I was certified in digital forensics and able to turn around items in days rather than months.
Having grown up in Panama City, FL, and my parents still residing here, in the fullness of time I knew it was time to move back and be closer to family and allow my children to spend a lot of well-deserved time with my parents and family.
After some soul searching with my amazing wife, Kristin, on many dog walks, we decided to take a leap of faith and start our own computer company, Tidewater Tech Computer Services.
The goal with this company is to provide exceptional customer service, fix issues quickly and professionally, and provide businesses with tools to proactively assist in keeping your livelihood running at 100% uptime. We would appreciate the opportunity to help your business grow and run as efficiently as possible! Thank you for visiting Tidewater Tech!
